It’s quite simple - we qualify as one of the best cross country movers in the US, which means that you can only expect top-notch moving service from us. In fact, you can ask for quite a few moving services, such as professional packing and unpacking, residential moving, corporate moving, storage units, and long distance car shipping. Speaking of auto transport, you should know that we can transport your car both on open and enclosed carrier, depending on your preferences. Another option we as your reliable Chicago movers give you is between door to door and terminal to terminal delivery. Whichever one you pick, your vehicle will be safe, but with door to door shipment, you can relax and just wait for us to deliver your car straight to your new address. To learn more about these different options of auto transport, call our representatives who can help you choose the one that suits you best.
Without further ado, here are some of the many reasons why you should consider relocating here brought to you by our friendly Brooklyn resident Nick, who we have invited to talk about this great city.

About Brooklyn

When and why did you decide to move to Brooklyn?

Nick: I moved from my home city, Phoenix, to Brooklyn two years ago, right after I graduated. I am a graphic designer, and it really wasn’t hard for me to find a job here. I have to admit, I was hoping to find a job in Manhattan, and I had applied to a bunch positions all over New York. I ended up being accepted into several jobs both in Manhattan and Brooklyn, but once I had done my research, I realized that Brooklyn is a much better place to live in.

How come you reached such a conclusion?

Nick: My primary criterion was, obviously, money. I had just graduated at the time and I had no idea what it is like to live on your own. I made sure that every penny counts and back then, I simply couldn’t afford Manhattan. Other than that, I realized that I was coming to New York not as a tourist, but as its new resident. I wanted to steer away from places that are popular among tourists – which Manhattan certainly is.

Looking back on it now, do you regret your decision to move to Brooklyn?

Nick: Absolutely not! Brooklyn is amazing – there is no place I’d rather live. It has just the right amount of that suburban touch to it. It is hip, it is stylish, casual, and I simply feel like I belong here. Moving to Brooklyn was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am living my life to the fullest in this borough.

How are you living your life to the fullest?

Nick: Oh, many different ways. First of all, I am single, and I like to think that I am still relatively young, so I like going out, partying, and having fun. My absolute favorite when it comes to nightclubs is the Bossa Nova Civic Club. There aren’t too many tourists there and their interior is great, kind of tropical. There is usually a pretty good DJ playing house music. I have to admit though, I am a rocker at heart, so I do like visiting Duff’s from time to time as well.
Aside from the nightlife, I like going out throughout the day as well. I own three dogs, so I really do have to cater my habits to them. For example, if I’m going out for lunch, I always check in advance whether the place is pet-friendly. So far I have established a pretty long list of pet-friendly restaurants and bars. My favorites include:
- Lucky Dog – This one was a no-brainer, it even has the word “dog” in it. They also have great cocktails and a cozy backyard.
- The Gate – This bar has two of my favorite things in the world – draft beer and a bunch of dogs. They even have a dog treat jar.
- Barking Dog – My favorite thing about this place is that they have a doggy drinking fountain – how cool is that?
- Kiwiana – This one is probably my favorite. They might not be designed around pets, like the previous three, but they have amazing New Zealand cuisine. I’ve never tried anything that good in my life.
Having three dogs is a big responsibility, and not just when it comes to restaurants. I think I’ve visited every single park in Brooklyn in the last two years.

So what are your favorite parks?

Nick: I would have to recommend the Prospect Park. You can let your pet off leash there, and they also organize outdoor concerts from time to time. However, it is not really the closest one to my home, so I often visit Cooper Park as well. That one is a little more family oriented, but I still like it. Another one I frequent is the McCarren Park. There is always a bunch of kids there playing baseball, which my dogs absolutely adore. I’m not sure the kids feel the same way, though. Anyway, it is pretty spacious, grassy, there’s a lot of friendly people there. In fact, I met my best friend in that park, when he approached me to ask to pet one of my dogs.

What about commuting? How much does it usually take you to get to work?

Nick: I mostly work from home, so I don’t do much commuting. However, I do have a lot of friends who go to work every day, and they say that it’s not nearly as bad as in some other parts of New York. Of course, it still is New York, so it’s probably not completely vacant either.

Let’s talk more about your moving process? How did that go?

Nick: At first I wanted to do it by myself. I was going to rent a moving truck, buy a bunch of moving boxes and do it all on my own. But as the moving day approached, I started realizing how much work that actually requires, so I decided to hire professional cross country movers last minute, and thank God I did. Seriously, relocating without moving help is just not achievable, in my opinion.
